In a week of walking recently in the Brecon Beacons I ... found them ideal. My feet did not overheat...they were at a very comfortable temperature, and the cushioning was excellent too. One possibly unique feature is that the wide elastic support at the top of the sock is complemented by one that sits above the ankle bone so the sock is held very comfortably and securely in place.... They really are an extremely pleasant sock to wear, so much so that they are now the default sock for all my usage...indoors as well as out.

MerinoSport are our Merino wool socks designed especially for mountain/trail biking and summer hill walking.  Lightweight, they still combine cushioning on sole and heel and a protective cushioned strip over the bridge of the foot and inside of right ankle.  And to make it easier to see which sock is which, they're labelled "L" and "R".

 

As with our MerinoTrek, customers who are allergic to elastic say they can wear our MerinoSport without any of the problems they've had with other brands.
