High synthetic content may give you longer wear - but you'll have smellier socks without the warmth or comfort merino wool gives you. Plus the higher the synthetic content of socks, the more likely they are to encourage nasties like Athlete's Foot and other fungal infections. | |
THE KIWI SOCK COMPANY knows a thing or two about socks. After all, they're the people behind some of New Zealand's most popular sock brands. They’ve been manufacturing socks in Norsewood for over 40 years. Their socks have clocked up millions of dependable kilometres both in NZ and overseas by everyone from mountain climbers, builders, truckers and farmers through to business and sports people - in fact anybody who demands a hard wearing, quality product. The Kiwi Sock Company prides itself on using only the finest New Zealand natural and synthetic fibres for structural integrity and comfort. We stock socks from the Kiwi Sock Company's 70 Mile Bush range and from their Duthie and Bull range. The 70 Mile Bush active range was inspired by the pioneer settlers whose boundless energy and tireless efforts created the township of Norsewood back in the 19th century. 70 Mile Bush is the densely forested area stretching from Norsewood in the north, to Masterton in the south. Made for active, hardworking people who live life on their feet, every pair of 70 Mile Bush socks have been designed and engineered for maximum comfort and knitted in our Norsewood mill from the finest natural fibres for excellent durability. The Duthie and Bull every-day range is named after Messrs Duthie & Bull, ship builders and entrepreneurs, whose ships the Ballarat and Hovding transported Scandanavian migrants to New Zealand in the early 1870s. Finding their way to the Seventy Mile Bush hills, they established the settlements now known as Norsewood and Dannevirke. These adventurous pioneer settlers relied on traditional crafts-manship, ingenuity and hard work to establish new lives on isolated bush-covered Tararua farms. Every pair of Duthie & Bull socks celebrates their remarkable achievements, and are designed and knitted in Norsewood from a blend of finest Merino wool and possum fur for superior comfort and wearability. |
